Former interim Democratic National Committee Chairwoman Donna Brazile lashed out against Kanye West on Thursday claiming that he has “set us back 155 years” in reaction to his praise of President Trump during a summit at the White House.
Brazile revealed her frustration with West, who has controversially voiced his skepticism of the 13th Amendment, which banned slavery, as well as informed reporters in the Oval Office that “Trump is on his hero’s journey right now.
Brazile’s post was citing a thread from NBC News’s Geoff Bennett that had pointed out the many inaccuracies about African-Americans and welfare in West’s remarks.
#KanyeWest has set us back 155 years. Wish #SojournerTruth could have met him outside the White House and #FrederickDouglas inside the Oval Office.@BarackObama never would have become President with this crap.

West had recently made numerous fake historical statements.
Back in May, he had stated that slavery “sounds like a choice.”
And September, West suggested that there were only 800 slaves in the 1800s, while in reality there over 4 million.
This month, he informed TMZ that he wasn’t sure if Abraham Lincoln was black or white.
The rap star also tackled the scrutiny that he has received in the entertainment industry for stumping for Trump, who has been accused of raising racial tensions with his remarks about white nationalist violence and protesting NFL players, declaring, “I have the balls to put on this hat.”
“What I need ‘Saturday Night Live’ to improve on and what I need liberals to improve on: If he don’t look good, we don’t look good,” the “Famous” rapper said of Trump. “This is our president. He has to be the freshest, the flyest.”
